Anu's father is Jaan and her mother is Ellu. Her paternal grandparents were Andres and Mari; her maternal grandfather was Jüri and her maternal grandmother is Ann. She has a brother and two sisters, named Peep, Madli and Mai. She had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Juhan, Hans, Eva, Ann and Margret.
