Teréz's father was Sándor Körtvélyessy and her mother was Berta Drimuch.  Her paternal grandparents were Antal Körtvélyessy and Anna Steinkugler; her maternal grandparents were János Drimuch and Anna Kőműves. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Antal, Sándor, József, Margit, Juliska, Erzsébet and Anna.  She was the fourth youngest of the eight children.  She died due to natural causes or old age at the age of 82 on April 20th, 1986 in Bustyaháza.  She was buried on April 28th, 1956 in Bustyaháza.¹
