Ferenc's father was László Asbóth and his mother was Anna Kolmár.  His paternal grandparents were László Asbóth and Anna Németh. He had five brothers and two sisters, named József, József, János, István, Viktor, Anna and Mária.  He was the third youngest of the eight children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named István and Mária.
