Ferenc's father was János Asbóth and his mother was Rozália Jabuka.  His paternal grandparents were György Asbóth and Anna Milos. He had four brothers and four sisters, named János, György, János, Imre, Katalin, Katalin, Erzsébet and Anna.  He was the second youngest of the nine children.
