Gladys Ellen was born on February 4th, 1916 in Portmouth, England.. Gladys Ellen's father was Fredrick PENNELL and her mother was Nellie (--?--). She was an only child. She died at the age of 82 in May 1998 in Edenwold, SK, Canada. Her burial was in Balgonie Cemetery, Balgonie, SK, Canada.

"GLADYS ELLEN RUMPEL Mrs. Gladys Rumpel, formerly of Archerwill, passed away peacefully, with family members at her side on Saturday, May 23, 1998, at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton. She was 82 years old. Gladys was born on Feb. 4, 1916, to Nellie and Frederick Pennell in Portsmouth, England. She is survived by her loving family, Sally and her husband Eldon Evenson of Edmonton; Shirley and her husband Greg Cameron of Ottawa; Fred of Edmonton; grandchildren, Murray and Richell of Edmonton, and Andrew and Brianna of Ottawa, and one sister Elsie Brownie of Vancouver. Gladys will be missed by a host of friends and relatives. Gladys was predeceased by her husband Bert, her father Frederick (WW1), and her mother Nellie (nee Miller). Gladys enjoyed travelling. Two highlights were trips to Scotland and a retirement trip with Bert to Hawaii in 1979. A remembrance service was held on Tuesday, May 26 at the South Side Memorial Chapel in Edmonton with Rev. Arnold Rapske officiating. Gladys' final resting-place is with her husband Bert at the Balgonie Cemetery in Balgonie, Sask. Pastor Ray Matthews officiated at the interment service."
