Jan was born on June 1st, 1860.  Jan's father was Mathew Siman and his mother was Magdelena Zibrik.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Siman and Maria Sics; his maternal grandparents are Jan Zibrik and Helena Voytko. He had four brothers and a sister, named Karl, Karl, Jan, Mathew and Christina.  He was the youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 8 on March 18th, 1869.
