Robert was born in 1881 in Manchester, Lancashire, UK.1   Robert's father was Robert GREGORY and his mother was Emma CROOK.  His maternal grandparents are Francis CROOK and Hannah RHOADES. He has three brothers and a sister, named William Henry, Frederick, Francis and Ellen.  He is the fourth oldest of the five children.
