Nelida was born in Valle Guanape. Nelida's father was Felix Henrriquez and her mother was Maria Aquitania Marapacuto Lopez. Her maternal grandparents were Antonio Ramón Marapacuto Peaspan and Rosa Angelica Lopez. She had four brothers and a sister, named Ismary, Henry, Manuel Felipe, Cesar and Teresa.
