Diego Bautista was born in 1845 in Aragua de Barcelona, Estado Anzoategui.  Diego Bautista's father was Bartolomé Isidro Arreaza Balladares and his mother was Vicenta Sifontes.  His paternal grandfather was Luis Arreaza Trebol and his paternal grandmother is Luisa Balladares Perdomo. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Pablo José, Antonio María, Pedro Loreto, Luis Manuel, Tomasa Magdalena, Clara María, Vicenta, Carmen Onofre and Maria Antonia.  He died at the age of 62 in 1907 in Aragua de Barcelona, Estado Anzoategui.
