Thomas was born about 1214 in Dutton, Cheshire, England.1   Thomas' father was Hugh 5th Lord De Dutton and his mother was Muriel Le Despencer.  His paternal grandparents were Hugh De Dutton and Isabell De Massey; his maternal grandfather was Thomas Le Despencer and his maternal grandmother is Rohese. He had a brother named Geoffrey.  He was the older of the two children.  He died in 1272.1
