William Henry Pettyt

William Henry was born in 1813 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England.¹ William Henry's father was Samuel Pettyt and his mother was Mary Anne Bullman. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Pettyt and Anne (Nancy) Benson. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Edward, Frederick, Samuel, Alfred Wedgewood, Emma, Eliza, Ann Mary and Caroline. He was the oldest of the nine children.
