Mary Elizabeth was born on May 8th, 1870. Mary Elizabeth's father was Obediah Franklin "Obie" Beene and her mother is Martha (Mary) Elizabeth (Dalton) Beene. Her paternal grandparents were Lemuel Rufus Beene and Sarah (Sally) Beene. She had four brothers and two sisters, named William, Robert , Samuel, Willis, Eunice and Sallie. She is the fourth oldest of the seven children.-
