George's father was Capt. William R. (Billy) Bean Jr and his mother was Lydia (Rusell) Beene. His paternal grandfather was William Beene and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth (Hatton) Beene. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Captain Robert, William, Russell, Sarah and Jane.-
