John Henry was born on January 25th, 1857. John Henry's father was Johann Carl Michael (Charles Michael) Goerhold (Gerholdt) and his mother was Dorothea Albertina (Cynthia) Sanders. His paternal grandparents were Johann Gottlob Joachim Goerhold and Marie Elisabeth Sandnerin. He had a brother and four sisters, named Robert Lee, Wilhelmina, Amalia (Molly), Katrina and Martha. He was the second youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 86 on February 2nd, 1943.General Notes
