John William Porch

John was born in 1849. John's father was James Wright Porch and his mother was Martha Monday Spratling (Porch). His paternal grandparents were Thomas Alexander Porch and Tabatha Bonner (Porch); his maternal grandparents were Henry Spratling and Mary Ann Johnson. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, James, Daniel, Uncle Bob, Stokely, John, Emma, Mary, Nancy, Mattie and Frances. John and Daniel were twins. He died as a war casualty, Illness contracted during Civil War, at the age of 15 in 1864. He was buried in Confederate Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
