(Information from Arlene Brackensick)
18 Aug 1818, a son Johann Friedrich was born to Johann Karnuth, Pächter [tenant farmer] and Louise Brusberg in Prinkowo.
I never found a marriage record for him, but later I found some birth and death records:
In the records in Neustadt, Pomerania:
10 Aug 1836 a son Ernst Karl Karnuth born to Johann Karnuth and Caroline born Hoppe in Pelzau
28 Sep 1857 death of Johanna Karnuth, daughter of Tägelohner [day laborer] Johann Karnuth and Caroline born Hoppe in Pelzau
Then in the church records in Putzig, West Prussia:
25 July 1859 a son Johann Heinrich Martin Karnuth born to Johann Karnuth and Caroline born Hoppe in Mechau
16 May 1867 a son Heinrich August Gustav Karnuth born to Johann Karnuth and Caroline born Hoppe of Mechau
That's all I could find on this family in the church records that I looked at. The birth date proves (I think) that the Johann buried in Buffalo was the person born in Prinkowo, and since his wife was named Caroline, I think we can assume he was the father of the children mentioned in Neustadt and Putzig.
I haven't looked at all the other material I have, but I will give you one quote from the church book in Krockow, West Prussia:
8 Nov 1803, Marriage record of Johann Karnuth, former Hussar in the von Blücher Regiment, son of the deceased Jacob Karnuth of [Jetsau?] and Christiana Elisabeth Brusberg, youngest daughter of the second marriage of the deceased Johann Brusberg, royal under-forester near Sobiensitz.
In the various records I have found, Johann's wife is referred to as both Elisabeth and Louise, but I don't know why. The book showing birth records in Krockow from1763 to 1824 is missing, or at least it has not been filmed by the LDS, so I can't verify any births there.
