Abena's father was Atiemo and her mother was Enisia Bennett.  Her maternal grandparents were Mante Isaiah Lartey and Ruth Bennett.  She was the youngest of seven children.  She had five brothers and a sister, named Alex, Dada, Willie, Ben, Robert and Juliana.  She died due to murder / assassination.
