Márton was born on September 13th, 1895 in Szent-Domonkos 80 and his christening took place on September 14th, 1895 in Bükkszenterzsébet conducted by priest Berzeviczy Kelemen.1   His godfather was Nyerges Gáspár and his godmother was Sipos Teréz.  Márton's father was Sándor Szögedi and his mother was Erzsébet Varga.  His paternal grandparents were Szögedi and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Varga and <Unknown>. He had three brothers and a sister, named Sándor, Sándor, Sándor and Erzsébet.  He was the youngest of the five children.
