Veronika was born on February 28th, 1874 in Bekölce and her christening took place there on February 28th, 1874 conducted by the priest.1   Her godfather was Dorkó Bertalan and her godmother was Holló Rozália.  Veronika's father was István (Stephanus) Pozsik and her mother was Terézia Czifra.  Her paternal grandparents were Pozsik and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Mátyás Mathias Czifra and Julianna Kormos. She had four brothers and a sister, named János, Lajos, István, Ágoston and Katalin.  She was the youngest of the six children.
