Antal was born on March 13th, 1886 in Nádasd and his christening took place there on March 13th, 1886 conducted by priest Herman Ágoston.1   His godfather was Berencsy József and his godmother was Gyárfás Eszter.  Antal's father was Antal Hamar (Csicsó) and his mother was Franciska Mihályi.  His paternal grandparents were Hamar (Csicsó) and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Mihályi and <Unknown>. He had three brothers and three sisters, named József, József, Gyula, Erzsébet, Mária and Etelka.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.
