I. Jane D'Oyly, who was married to Reymond Morres of Rathnaline and Cluany-ny-menagh, co. Tipperary, son and heir of Matthew Morres, Esq. of Ballyrickard Morres, descended from the great Irish house of de Marisco, originally named de Montmorency. Reymond Morres was an officer in the Austrian service about 1720, and died about 1744, having had issue by Jane D'Oyly,

Matthew Montmorency Morres of Rathline and Clunnenagh, born Aug. 1726, who was married in Feb. 1766, to Margaret, daughter of Francis Macgan of Emoe, co, Westmeath (niece maternally of Sir James Esmonde, Bart, of Ballinastra), and resumed, as chief of his house, its privitive surname of de Montmorency. He died June 1795, æt. 69, having had issue an only son,
Hervey, Chevalier de Montmorency Morres, Knight of St. Louis and the Legion of Honour, a Colonel of the Etat Major in the French service, author of a Genealogical and Historical Account of the Montmorency Family. He married, first, Lady Louisa, dau. of Wolfgang, Sovereign Baron of Helmstadt and Lord of Bischoffstein in Suabia, but s.p.m. By his second wife he had two sons, Count Hervé de Montmorency-Morres and Count Matthew de Montmorency-Morres, both officers in the Austrian service, and alive about 1840; in whom the representation of Robert D'Oyly is presumed to be vested. Montmorency bore, "Or, a cross gules, between four eagles displayed azure."[413]
