John D'Oyly, of Southrope, gentleman, baptized there Oct. 1720, who resided at Southrope in a house belonging to the family, and dying æt. 82, s.p. was buried at Southrope, May 1803; by his will, dated Oct. 1802, proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, May 1803, leaving the bulk of his property to his hereafter-named grand-nieces, and appointing their step-mother, and her brother James Rosier, of London, gent. executors.
I. Margaret D'Oyly, who was baptized at Southrope, Nov. 1710; married there, July 1732, to Joseph Small, gent. of a respectable Gloucestershire family, which owned Whaddon manor, co. Gloucester, and estates also at Fordham, co. Norfolk;[435] and, dying his widow, was buried at Southrope, Oct. 1747. The arms of Small were, "Azure, a chevron or, between three martlets argent."
II. Elizabeth D'Oyly, baptized at South-rope, March 1717, who died æt. 12, and was buried there Dec. 1729.
