  About 1357 he espoused Alice, dau. of — Atlute, Acklude, or Hacklute,[207] of Woburn, in the adjacent county of Bucks, a member, it would seem, of the eminent house of Hacklute of Gloucestershire, which bore for arms "Argent on a bend gules, cottised of the last, three mullets pierced or;" and, thus becoming connected with Bucks, Thomas D'Oyly purchased, in 1384, the manor of Eweden[208] or Iveden, in Hambleden parish, in that county
