  I. Martha D'Oyly married v.p. to John Arnold, Esq.[332] of Alton Pancras, co. Dorset, elder brother of Henry Arnold of Bagbere in Milton Abbas, and Ilsington, co. Dorset, and son of Henry Arnold, by a daughter of the house of Cuffe; which Arnold family bore, "Gules, a chevron ermine between three pheons or." John Arnold was executor to his father-in-law Sir Cope D'Oyly, and a trustee for the D'Oyly family. He was alive in 1645; and at his death left a successor of his name to the Alton estate.[333].
