Elizabeth married Richard Mather (Carder, son of Richard) in 1837, after Ann and Robert had been born, Richard was recorded as a Cotton Striper in the 1841 census, at Club Houses, Sharples.
In 1841, Elizabeth's father William Roper (65) and was living with the family at Club Houses, Sharples. He was described as a Quarry Man from Sharples on her marriage certificate but now an Ag Labourer.
