John was born in 1823 in Atherton.¹ John is no longer alive.

- In 1841, John and Ann Rigby (18 & 16) were at Castle Street, Atherton with (assumed) step-mother Betty (40).
  
  WARNING: in 1841, There is another John Rigby of Westleigh, aged 20, son of William and Mary Rigby, and they also had a daughter Ann. Could be the same children!
