General Notes
In 1862 and later, Margaret lived in Ceylon (i.e. Sri Lanka).
In 1871, Catherine was at Aldershot Barracks, "50th Queens Own Regiment of Infantry" with her children Margaret (9) and Edward (7), both born in Ceylon.
I suspect that Catherine is the same as Catherine Mather, buried 11th May 1874, residence, the barracks, Kingston, buried Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, age 38.
Catherine and John were married. They had a son and a daughter, named Edward and Margaret. There are possibly more children.
