Rowland was born in 1925.  He died at the age of 92 in 2017.

‌Rowland and Barbara were married in a religious ceremony in 1950 at St. Paul's (Astley Bridge).1  They had two daughters named Ann and Jane.

‌Rowland and Jean were married in a religious ceremony in March 1977 in Bolton.2
