- CHELSEA--Elsie Faye Hilligas and Richard Charles Bloome were united in marriage on Friday morning, Jan. 28. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hilligas, Sr., of Chelsea and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Bloome of Victor.
The single ring ceremony was read at 10 a.m. in the Lutheran parsonage by the Rev. W.S. Wendt. The couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dunlap of Belle Plaine.
The bride wore a silver gray dress with black accessories. Her bridal corsage was made up of light pink carnations tied with white ribbons.
Mrs. Dunlap, maid of honor, wore a gray dress with black accessories..( ???????)..corsage of light pink carnations.
The bridegroom and best man both wore brown suits. Both wore carnation boutonnieres.
The bride's mother wore a black dress and the bridegroom's mother chose a dark green dress. Both wore corsages of yellow carnations.
Mrs. Bloome was born at Westphalia, Kansas, and attended schools in Poweshiek county. Mr. Bloome was born at Victor and has always lived in the Victor vicinity.
The young couple will make their home at Victor where the bridegroom is engaged in farming.
A wedding dance was held at the ZCBJ hall in Chelsea Friday evening. Bud Novak furnished the music.
