- CHELSEA--On Saturday evening March 18, Doris Lucen Rupe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Becker of Des Moines became the bride of Earl Franklin Hilligas, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hilligas, of Chelsea.
The ceremony was read at 9:05 by J.W. Kasa in the Kasa parsonage. Attending the couple was the bridegroom's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Hilligas of Belle Plaine.
Mrs. Hilligas was born at Fox, Ark., and received her education in Des Moines. Mr. Hilligas was born Westphalia, Kans., and received his education at Brooklyn. He is employed at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Ledvina near Chelsea.
The young couple are making their home in the Mrs. Hazel Dyrland property, on Main street where the late Dr. E.K. Dun Van had his office.
