- Lammert “Lam” William Trauernicht, 91, Beatrice, died Monday, January 9th at Parkview Center, Beatrice. He was born May 26, 1914 at rural Beatrice, NE. He married Irene Bures on May 16, 1940. He farmed several areas around Beatrice until 1959 when he was afflicted with polio he then moved with his family to Beatrice. He raised popcorn and sold it to the theatre. He ran a movie projector at theatres in Fremont, Wymore and Beatrice. He helped his brother combine during harvest. He enjoyed watching sports, especially football. He loved visiting with family and friends. He enjoyed working and tinkering with cars.
Survivors: daughter: Gayle Ottersburg of Lincoln, NE; sons: John Trauernicht and Dale Trauernicht and wife Jenepher all of Beatrice; 6 grandchildren: Dawn Jeardoe and husband Pat of Beatrice, Danice Brod and husband Jim of Ellis, David Trauernicht and special friend Tiffany Broz and Jason Trauernicht of Beatrice, Todd Ottersburg of Lincoln and Sharyl Deidle and husband Dan of, CO; 4 great grandchildren: Jacob Brod, Jordan Brod, Kalynn Jeardoe and Madisyn Deidle; 2 sisters: Lena Johnson of Beatrice and Grace Brinkhuis of Sioux Falls, SD; 1 brother: Walter Trauernicht and wife Ila of Beatrice; brother in law: Alvin Bures of Odell; sister in law: Ardith Frerichs of Texas.

Funeral: 2:00 PM, Friday, January 13, 2006 at the Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel. Pastor David Kramer and Pastor Joann Kramer, officiating. Burial: Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Beatrice, NE. Visitation: Harman-Wright Mortuary 8AM-9PM Thursday and 8AM until time of service on Friday. Memorial established to St. John Lutheran Church with the mortuary in charge.
