Rufus was born on April 19th, 1922 in Boswell, Choctaw County, Oklahoma.1   He died from cancer at the age of 63 on August 9th, 1985 in Chelsea, Tama County, Iowa.  The funeral took place in Hrabak's Funeral Home, Chelsea, Tama County, Iowa.  He was buried at the Rector Cemetery, South of Chelsea, Tama County, Iowa.1 1
