  • Some peerage books say that she is the sister of Sir Gervase Clifton, 1st Baron Clifton, who is the son of Sir John Clifton of Barrington Court, Somerset. Other sources say that she is the daugher of Sir William Clifton (1479 - Nottinghamshire, England - 1537 - England, who married Elizabeth Blount in 1504. This Sir William Clifton is thought to be the son of Sir Gervase Clifton of Clifton-upon-Trent, and his wife and Alice Neville, daughter of Sir Thomas Neville and Elizabeth Babington.Sir Gervase Clifton was the son of Sir Robert Clifton and Alice Booth.
