Nicholas_I was born in 1796.  Nicholas_I's father was Paul_I Romanov and his mother was Maria Feodorovna of_Wurttemberg.  His paternal grandparents were Peter_III Romanov and Catherine_II the_Great; his maternal grandparents were Frederick Eugene of_Wurttemberg and Dorothea of_Brandenburg -Schwedt.  He was the youngest of three children.  He had a brother and a sister, named Alexander_I and Anna Pavlovna.  He died at the age of 59 in 1855.
