Roger's father was Roger Mortimer and his mother was Eleanor Holland.  His paternal grandparents were Edmund Mortimer and Philippa of_Ulster; his maternal grandfather was Thomas Holland.  He was the third of four children.  He had a brother and two sisters, named Edmund, Anne and Eleanor.  He died in 1409.
