James_I was born in 1394 in Dunfermline,Scotland.  James_I's father was Robert_III and his mother was Annabella.  His paternal grandparents were Robert_II and Elizabeth of_Rowallan Mure; his maternal grandfather was John Drummond.  He was the oldest of two children.  He had a brother named David of_Rothesay.  He died at the age of 43 in 1437.
