Francis_I was born on September 12th, 1494 in Cognac,France.  Francis_I's father was Charles of_Valois and his mother was Louise of_Savoy.  His paternal grandfather was John of_Valois.  He was the oldest of two children.  He had a sister named Margaret of_Navarre.  He died at the age of 52 on March 31st, 1547 in Rambouillet,France.  His burial was in St. Denis,France.
