  • In 1999, her cousin John F. Kennedy, Jr. and his wife, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy; and his wife's sister Lauren Bessette died in a plane crash en route to her wedding, which was originally scheduled for July 17, the day after the crash. The wedding was postponed, and a considerably scaled-down ceremony was held two weeks later.
    
    

They have two daughters named Georgia and Bridget.
