Era capitão de ordenanças em 1613, quando fez a denúncia que levou à prisão do capitão-mor Tomé de Fraga, acusado de acolher corsários estrangeiros nas Flores.
Morreu sendo ouvidor, cargo que serviu alguns nove anos. Foi também capitão-mor.
A sua chegada às Flores, onde serviu alguns nove anos como capitão-Mor e ouvidor, deverá ter ocorrido bastante tempo depois da primeira leva de povoadores, pois a mulher pertence já à segunda geração nada na Ilha. (Diogo das Chagas in "Espelho Cristalino").
