Robert was born in 1889.  Robert's father is James Bisset and his mother is Janet Bruce.  His paternal grandfather is James Bisset and his paternal grandmother was Christian Thomson.  He has three brothers and a sister, named James, John, Walter and Agnes.  He is the youngest of the five children.
