Joanna was born in 1706 in Almkerk en Emmikhoven and her baptism took place there on November 14th, 1706.1   Her godmother was Marike Ariensdr Buijser. Joanna's father was Willem Pieterszn Dekker and her mother was Willemke Ariens Buijser.  Her paternal grandparents were Peter Willems Dekker and Hilleke Jansdr Cool; her maternal grandparents were Arend Buijser and N.N. N.N.. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Pieter Willemszn, Gerret Willemszn, Gerit, Arien, Anneke Willemsdr, Maijke and Joanna.  She was the fifth oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 42 on January 4th, 1748 in Emmikhoven.2
