Theophana van Byzantium

  Zij is overleden op de palts te Nijmegen en begraven in de St. Pantaleinskerk te Keulen. Zij was een Byzantijnse prinses. Uit het 1e huwelijk zijn drie dochters geboren, waaronder Anna. Zij is een nicht van Johannes Tzimisces, diplomaat en militair.

Theophana's father was Romanos II van Byzantium and her mother was Theophana van Byzantium. Her paternal grandparents were Constantijn VII van Byzantium and Helena Lekapenos; her maternal grandparents were Leo Phokas and N.N. N.N.. She had a sister named Anna. She was the older of the two children. She died at the age of 36 on June 15th, 0991 in Nijmegen.¹
