Jenneken was born in July 1776 and her baptism took place on July 21st, 1776 in Lochem.1  Jenneken's father was Harmen Buijrink and her mother was Adriana Scholten.  Her paternal grandparents were Berent Burink and Jenneken Nieuwenhuijs; her maternal grandparents were Hendrik Scholten and Harmina Harking. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Gerrit Jan, Hendrik Harmenszn, Jan Harmenszn, Berend Harmenszn, Jenneken Hermansdr and Janna.
