Hendrika was born on November 2nd, 1867 in Harderwijk.1  Hendrika's father was Gerrit Johannes van Buuren and her mother was Johanna Catharina Foppen.  Her paternal grandparents were Albert van Buuren and Willemina Johanna Arnold; her maternal grandparents were Goossen Aartszn Foppen and Hendrika Luiting. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Gerrit Johannes, Dirkje, Albertje and Johanna Willemina.  She was the second oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 42 on November 6th, 1909 in Apeldoorn.1
