Jenneken was born in October 1681 in Swijp and her baptism took place on October 2nd, 1681 in Lochem.1   Her godfather was Gerrit Berepas. Jenneken's father was Berent Burinck and her mother was Otjen Schulten.  Her paternal grandparents were Jan Burinck and N.N. N.N.; her maternal grandparents were Gerrit Schulten and N.N. N.N.. She had four brothers and a sister, named Jan, Jan, Herman, Goossen and Trientjen.  She was the youngest of the six children.
