Hendrik Aalten was born in July 1767 in Harderwijk and his baptism took place there on July 12th, 1767.1  Hendrik Aalten's father was Aalt Brandszn van den Broek and his mother was Bartje Jansdr N.N..  His paternal grandparents were Brand Geurtszn van den Broek and Hendrikjen Willemsdr Timmer. He had four brothers and a sister, named Brand, Jan Aalten, Klaas Aalten, Willem Aalten and Dirkje Aaltsdr.  He was the third oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 58 on November 29th, 1825 in Ermelo.1
