Dirkje Aaltsdr was born in March 1772 in Harderwijk and her baptism took place there on March 25th, 1772.1  Dirkje Aaltsdr's father was Aalt Brandszn van den Broek and her mother was Bartje Jansdr N.N..  Her paternal grandparents were Brand Geurtszn van den Broek and Hendrikjen Willemsdr Timmer. She had five brothers named Brand, Jan Aalten, Hendrik Aalten, Klaas Aalten and Willem Aalten.  She was the youngest of the six children.
