Adriaen was born in 1721 in Genderen and his baptism took place on October 5th, 1721 in Eethen.1  Adriaen's father was Gerridt Harmszn Branderhorst and his mother was Ariaentie Bleesdr Versteeg.  His paternal grandfather was Harman Hendrikszn Branderhorst and his paternal grandmother is Jenneken Hendricksdr Lentinck; his maternal grandparents were Bleijs Versteghen and Judick Tameris. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Blees, Harmen Gerritszn, Dirk Gerritszn, Hendrik, Willem, Willem, Jenneke, Judick, Jenneke, Marij, Marie and Marij.  He was the fourth oldest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 49 on September 19th, 1770 in Capelle (Noord Brabant).2
