Jan was born in 1638 and his baptism took place on March 4th, 1638 in Haaften.1  Jan's father is Alert Ghijsbertszn Blomhert and his mother is Meriken Jansdr.  His paternal grandparents are Ghijsbert Stevenszn Blomhert and N.N. N.N.. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Herber, Herbert, Claes, Jan, Jenneken Alertsdr, Heeske, Geertken and Eelken.  He was the fourth oldest of the nine children.  He died before 1643.
