Eelken was born in 1698 and her baptism took place on November 6th, 1698 in Haaften.1  Eelken's father was Philip Gompertszn Blomhert and her mother was Jenneke Teunissen van Mil.  Her paternal grandparents were Gompert Egbertszn Blomhert and Maria Koenen. She has three brothers and a sister, named Gompert, Johannes Philipszn, Egbert Philipszn and Angheneeske.  She is the third oldest of the five children.
